Write
Write: How do I start to write my paper?
This step is about putting your ideas into sentences and paragraphs. Before now, you’ve jotted
your ideas down and arranged them. Now it’s time to put them into sentences and paragraphs that
will best fit the writing situation.
-
Making logical claims and a
thesis
statement
- Quantitative evidence—Would a graph or statistics be a good way to support one of your
ideas?
- Qualitative evidence—Would a detailed description and analysis of a situation or quotation make
the most sense to understand a certain idea?
- Personal experience—Would a narrative description of a personal observation or experience best
support your idea?
- Analyzing quotations and other means of support (graph, statistic, image, music clip, video
clip)
- If it fits your assignment, you might decide that an image, graph, audio, or video clip best
supports your paragraph.
