Overdue/Late/Lost Book Fees

Library users will be emailed when books from UIUC are overdue. The first notice comes on the 7th day the book is overdue, the second comes on the 21st day.

The different types of fees are:

• Lost Books: minimum $125 for books and $300 for bound periodicals. Any item not returned or renewed 34 days past when it was due is considered lost.
• Overdue books: a $10 processing fee is charged after 34 days. This fee is due even if the item is later returned, and is in addition to the lost book fee.

Checking for Overdue Books
