Twitter Engagement Policy

@scholcommons

Twitter is an important communications tool that allows for frequent, topically focused, interactions with current and potential patrons. As of 2012, 76% of Association of Research Libraries (ARL) members have active Twitter accounts. Far more than a tool to disseminate information, Twitter offers the ability to engage patrons through real time replies to basic research questions, participation in conversations about topics related to Scholarly Commons services, and direct invitations to engage with library faculty and staff. By engaging with Scholarly Commons patrons in this manner we encourage a culture of information sharing and bolster a sense of campus community around the services and resources that we offer.
