[Journal, Apr. 12, 1850, to Aug. 22, 1851] [manuscript], 1850-1851 | Rare Book & Manuscript Library, University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign
Journal of a voyage on the ship Lady Franklin, under the command of William Penney, in search of Sir John Franklin?s expedition.
Title supplied by cataloger.
"Although the [author?s] name is not given, this very literate account by a man in charge of a sledge party that made an overland search of 31 days duration would seem to be John Stuart since he records reaching Cape Hurd in Barrow?s Strait on this search, as did a party under Stuart. The journal is well-written, detailed by a man with some scientific training."--Bookseller?s description.
