A collection formerly at Eton College, and, in part, originally from the Huth Library. The Common-place books and Notes for English history are in 8 v. bound in red morocco. Another copy of the first 320 entries in v. 1 is in older binding. The letters and other materials have been annotated and grouped in 7 folders as follows: . Letters of Buckle, to 1861 (80 a.l.s., and four photocopies) . Buckle's eastern journey, 1861-62 (36 a.l.s. principally correspondence between Mrs. Huth and her two sons; 4 maps) . Correspondence about the death of Buckle (13 a.l.s., telegram and statements from Sandwith, acting consul of Damascus, and others) . Letters and statements, 1858-76 (20 a.l.s. and 5 photocopies) . Notes from or about 40-50 books or topics. . Buckle's tombstone (20 letters, drawings, photographs, etc.) . Seven offprints of posthumous articles from Fraser's magazine and negative of a port. of Buckle.
