This volume contains manuscript copies of Bustan and Gulistan, two works by Persian author Saʿdī. Bustan was Saʿdī's first work, completed in 1257, and contains a collection of semi-biographical anecdotes written in verse. Gulistan, completed a year later, also contains anecdotes concerning moral issues, and is written in both prose and verse. Each page is illuminated and select pages contain painted illustrations depicting different scenes.
