Scope and Contents: This commonplace book contains 22 pages of manuscript transcriptions of Restoration-era writings in several hands. The contents include love poems, satirical poems, orations, and a translation from Ovid's Amores. Represented authors include John Wilmot and John Dryden. One poem, John Wilmot's "The Wish," has been expurgated with ink but remains legible. The volumes final three pages contain financial accounts dated 1703-1704.
