Automated table of contents and topical searches can be set up in most online databases so that you receive citations via e-mail on a weekly basis. For assistance setting up automated searches see the Table of Contents Alerts LibGuide or contact your librarian.
The following wireless networks are now available in the Prairie Research Institute Library.
The Prairie Research Library has 3 public terminals with internet access, and access to University of Illinois licensed resources. Software includes Internet Explorer, Firefox, Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Photoshop, PageMaker, Adobe Acrobat and accessibility programs including ZoomText and Narrator. All are welcome to use the public terminals, no logon is required. Printing from the library terminals to the INHS Library public printer is possible with your NetID and password. If you do not have a NetID, you must send the print job to the Undergraduate Library and pick it up and pay (cash only) for it there.
A scanning workstation with a Canon, CanoScan8800F, Adobe Photoshop is available. All are welcome to use this workstation
The Prairie Research Institute Library is a loan location for the Department of Natural Resources "Resources Trunks" for educators. Any educator, including teachers, Scout leaders, 4H leaders or project helpers may borrow a trunk. Institute Staff are welcome to borrow them for outreach activities. Each trunk is a collection of educational resources, including specimens, books, kits, and activities appropriate for a wide age-range of learners. You do not need to be affiliated with the Institute or the University to borrow a trunk, and there is no charge for their use. Trunks available at the Prairie Research Institute Library are:

New Book Display: New books are put on display at the Prairie Research Institute Library every
week. Books are available for check out immediately.
New print journal issues are put on display periodically. The issues are shelved with the bound journals after on display.

Materials can be put on reserve for classes and discussion groups. Contact us to place items on reserve.
We offer user education for Prairie Research Institute staff and other library patrons upon request. Individual and small group sessions are encouraged, please contact us to arrange a session for yourself, your lab, or a class you are teaching.
