John K. Bouseman Natural History Library Collection Endowment Fund

History and Purpose

You can help support the future of the Illinois Natural History Survey’s library collection with a gift to the John K. Bouseman Natural History Survey Library Collection Endowment Fund.  The goal of this  Fund is to help the library continue to build an excellent collection, which dates to the Survey's founding in 1858.  The INHS Library collection serves a wide range of users, including Survey scientists, University of Illinois faculty and students, and the public.

This fund was established in 2003 with gifts solicited from a small group of generous library supporters by the late John Bouseman, past chair of the INHS Library Committee.  State budget reductions and the rising costs of journals and electronic databases have challenged the library’s ability to keep pace with the rapid advances in natural history publishing.  We ask that you contribute to the INHS Library Collection Endowment Fund to protect this valuable asset.

For more information, contact Beth Wohlgemuth, Librarian.
