Stacks Service Report: Next Steps

Sep 11, 2008

The Stacks Service Report was reviewed by the Library Executive Committee (EC), who endorsed the report and gave their recommendations for priorities to Paula Kaufman.  Work has begun or will soon begun to on enacting a number of these recommendations, including planning a bibliographic record clean-up project and implementing new Stacks entry procedures.  CDC will charge taskforces to remove any unbound serial holdings from Stacks and address needs of folios and minis.  In addition, EC recommended getting cost estimates for the reconfiguration of the main circulation desk and the new wayfinding/signage plan, capping holdings at two copies of particular edition of an item in the Stacks, and starting a program of removing special collections from Stacks.
