Minrva 2.0.2 Released

Mar 28, 2014

The University Library has announced that a new version of the Minrva app for Android is now available!
To download, visit Google Play: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=edu.illinois.ugl.minrva

Enhancements in this release include:

* Wayfinder module for Main Stacks
The Wayfinder module is a GPS-like service for locating books in unit libraries. The database now includes over 90 miles of books. In addition to new Main Stacks maps, there is wayfinding support available for the Funk ACES Library, Music and Performing Arts Library, and Undergrad.

* Topic Space
The Library's prototype mobile augmented reality experiment allows a user to take a picture of an item's call number in the Undergrad book stacks -- the Topic Space module will show the user other books that are relevant but that are not shelved nearby. It can also show users books that are normally shelved but that are currently checked out.

Minrva 2.02 codebase was sourced from the IMLS "Student/Library Collaborative" National Leadership Grant and the IMLS Sparks! Grant, "Rapid Prototyping Mobile Augmented Reality Applications."
