Reserves Use Policy at the Music and Performing Arts Library
Reserves are important class study materials that have restricted use. Reserve items are located
at the first floor Circulation Desk of the Music and Performing Arts Library.
Electronic reserves are
available for some classes.
Some Important Information About Reserves Use
- They are generally available
four items at a time for a
two-hour loan
within the Music and Performing Arts
Library during regular service hours.

Listening Station Keys for using audio-video reserve items (such as CD's,
cassettes, LP's, videos, DVDs) are also available for checkout at the first floor Circulation
Desk.

Overnight Loans are available for most print reserve materials. These items may be
checked out of the Library during the final hour of business each day, and must be returned the
following business day within the first hour of Library service.

Return Reserve Items directly to the Circulation Desk, or, when the Library is
closed, to the Library Bookdrops near the North entrance of the Music Building.

Reserve Overdue Fines are assessed as follows:
-$2.00 per hour per item
-Fines may accumulate up to: $50.00 per item
How do I access reserve items?
- You may access e-reserves via the
Online
Library Catalog or
Directly. In both cases the
material is accessed by course and instructor. If accessed directly, the list retrieved does not
include any print materials such as full-length books you may have also placed on reserve.
- E-reserves can be printed either inside or outside of the library.
- If printed within the UIUC library sytem, payments may be charged directly (online) to your
student or faculty account or made at the Undergraduate Library desk.
