Choice offers quick and easy access for nearly any individual looking for reviews of
monographs of scholarly research. Beyond the standard "Editorial," "Bibliographic Essay," and
"Feature" articles, each issue contains reviews organized by four broad subject divisions. The
division for the Humanities includes a sub-section for "Language and Literature," which includes
subdivisions for scholarship on "Germanic," and "Romance," as well as on other languages. The
reviews are generally one paragraph in length and summarize and evaluate the works. They usually
include a broad audience recommendation. Each issue includes "Author," "Title," and "Topic"

languages--first the Romance languages, then the Germanic languages (including English), then
Slavic, Finno-Ugrian, and Baltic, other European and American languages, Africa and the West
Indies, the Pacific and Asia (including the Middle East, South Asia, and East Asia). The reviews
are written by specialists at American universities.
