How to Gain Access to Resources

Library Passwords

Licensing agreements require that only UIUC affiliates have access to many of the electronic materials purchased by the UIUC Libraries. Resources such as online databases and electronic journals are set up on a proxy server in order to allow remote access. In most cases this is seamless to the user, but if you can not get in to a needed source, send email to remote-access@library.uiuc.edu and we will investigate the problem.

What password do I use to access electronic information resources?  It depends on the resource.

Use your NetID and password to:

Log into licensed resources, such as LISA, via the Online Research Resouces  page.

Place interlibrary loan requests via the IRRC website.

Use your 14-digit barcode number (found on your I-Card) to:

Log into UIUC Library Online Catalog and access your own borrower account to track requests, monitor due dates, and renew books.

Save searches and create current awareness profiles in databases running under the OVID interface, such as ERIC.
