Tell Me More Language Learning Software

The University Library has licensed Auralog’s award winning TELL ME MORE® language training software, which includes American English, British English, Dutch, French, German, Italian, Spanish, and Spanish (Spain). Learning programs are also suited to user needs, as the software offers Complete Beginner, Beginner, Intermediate and Advanced levels.

All you need to do to get started is navigate to the resource and create an account. Here are the instructions:

1. Start at the Online Journals and Databases tool. (Found under the "Quick Links" on the library homepage. Direct link here: http://openurl.library.uiuc.edu/sfxlcl3/az)
2. Search for "Tell Me More." The language-learning resource is the second result on the page, labeled "Databases DATABASES" (The first result is an NPR news publication)
3. Click on "DATABASES" to enter Tell Me More.
4. On the homepage, click on the message near the center: "New user, click here." You will enter your name, email address and set up a username and password.
5. Once you have created an account, log in and enjoy!

Troubleshooting:

Macintosh users have reported a problem with Flash and activating the microphone for use by the Tell Me More Program. It is necessary to specify that the Tell Me More URL is allowed to use the system's microphone. On Mac computers, this information is found in System Preferences; Flash is one of the "other" group.
