Bibliography of the English Printed Drama to the Restoration.  A citation index of printed English dramatic works from approximately 1516-1616.  In English Reference, call number A 822 G86b v.1.

Cambridge History of Early Modern English Literature.  A good secondary resource on the history of British printing.  In English Reference, call number 820.9 C14432.

Dictionary of Literary Biography.  A multi-volume reference work on key figures of various literary periods and genres.  Volumes of interest may include:

German Writers of the Renaissance and Reformation: 1280-1580 (v. 179); German Baroque Writers, 1580-1660 (v. 164); German Baroque Writers, 1661-1730 (v.168); Sixteenth-Century British Nondramatic Writers (v. 132, 136, 167, and 172), British Novelists 1660-1800, 2 parts (v. 39), and British Prose Writers, 1660-1800 (v. 101 and 104).  In English Reference, call number Q. 928.1 D561.  Also available online through Literature Resource Center.

A Dictionary of the booksellers and printers who were at work in England, Scotland, and Ireland from 1641 to 1667.  In Main Reference, call number 655.142 P72D.

A Guide to English Illustrated Books, 1536-1603.  A 2-volume reference text on English illustrated texts in the Renaissance. Main Reference, call number 016.769942 L962g.

Index of English Literary Manuscripts.  A four-volume work indexing early English Literary manuscripts.  Volume 1 covers 1450-1625 and volume II covers 1625-1700.  In English Reference, call number 016.82 In21 v.1, pt.2.

Literature Criticism from 1400 to 1800.  A reference work with secondary sources.  Available in the Main Stacks or online.

Short-Title Catalogue of Books Printed in England, Scotland, & Ireland and of English Books Printed Abroad, 1475-1640.  Catalog indexing works published from the 15th century through the 17th century in England, Scotland, and Ireland.  In English Reference, call number Q. 015.42 P76s 1976 v.1

English Short Title Catalogue: Offered online through the British Library, this catalog is the premier source for finding works printed between 1473 and 1700.

Arts & Humanities Citation Index: A comprehensive index of citations from international journals in literature, art, philosophy, history, and other humanities disciplines.
