Online catalog downtime

Jul 6, 2011

The online catalog will be taken offline from 5pm on Friday, July 8, until 6am on Monday, July 11.  This means you won't be able to search the catalog, request books, or renew books.

Here's more info from the Library's IT department:

CARLI plans to upgrade Voyager to version 7.2.5 starting at 5 PM on July 8, 2011. They expect the upgrade process to run from 5:00 PM on July 8 until 6:00 AM Monday morning, July 11. During this time there will be no access to Voyager. There will be no Voyager client access on the staff side and no access to the Voyager Classic or VuFind catalogs.

During the upgrade, users attempting to access the online catalog will see a message indicating that the system is offline for upgrade. This message will also provide a link to the CARLI System Status page (http://blog.carli.illinois.edu/sys-status/) where the latest status of the upgrade will be posted.

Circulation desks can use the Voyager offline circ process during the upgrade.

Most campus libraries will be closed over the weekend; the open ones will use a back-up method to check out books. For library summer hours, see http://www.library.illinois.edu/services/hours.php.

Voyager's downtime will not affect other databases, e-journals, or course reserves.
