Install a Bookmarklet

A bookmarklet is a JavaScript that is embedded within a bookmark url in most web browsers. The Library bookmarklet allows you to check if the UIUC Library has a copy of a book you find at amazon.com, barnesandnoble.com, borders.com and powells.com.

When you click on this bookmarklet a new browser window will be opened and a search for that book will be performed in the online catalog. In Firefox the new window will open below the current window. Note, an ISBN search is being done so only this edition of the book is being searched for. The bookmarklet only works for books. If you try to click the bookmarklet for another item type, nothing will happen. Also, you may have allow popups from www.library.uiuc.edu for this to work.
