Services

The Latin American and Caribbean Library offers a rich array of library services for Latin American and Caribbean Studies. The Library's homepage features a wealth of print and electronic resources by discipline with quick links to important databases for easy consultation. The Library's knowledgeable staff is can happy to answer questions and assist in research, either in-person, by phone or by email. The Librarian offers a full suite of instructional services: from in-class presentations to library tours.


Collection

The UIUC Library's collections of Latin American and Caribbean materials represent one of the largest in the Midwest and among the top 10 in the United States. They include extensive print and electronic holdings (books, journals, databases, series, cd-roms and films) in all areas but especially in the social sciences and humanities, such as  anthropology, economics, history, literature, linguistics, political science and sociology. The Latin America and the Caribbean Librarian, subject specialist librarians in the UIUC Library system, and Center for Latin American and Caribbean Studies work closely together to collect materials to support the research and teaching needs of UIUC faculty and students.
