Camtasia

Teaching & Training Software

What is Camtasia?

Camtasia is video-based screen capture software for Windows PCs.  Screen captures are recorded to a digital video format.  Audio narration can be added to accompany the video.  Camtasia can be used to create tutorials, demonstrations, web site tours, etc. aimed at either Library users or Library staff.

How to request Camtasia for a staff computer

Log a Work Request to request a copy of Camtasia for installation on your desktop or laptop. Include the computer inventory number in your request. If you intend to use audio with Camtasia, ask for a headset and microphone also.   IT/WNS will install Camtasia on your workstation when your license is received.

Camtasia can be installed on a Library desktop PC or a dedicated-use Library laptop. Camtasia is not installed on laptops in the Library Loaner Pool.

Camtasia licenses purchased for Library computers are tracked in Library IT's software license database. Our goal is to have all Camtasia users on the same version of the software
