Scope and Contents:
C. L. Eaton was born in Ross Co., Ohio, but later represented Franklin Co. and the city of Columbus in the Ohio legislature, 1853-54. In 1861, Eaton moved to Champaign Co., Ill., where he managed a 25,000 acre estate near Broadlands. He later moved to Vermilion Co., Ill., in 1871, where he managed several farm properties. The collection includes a journal recording various incomes and expenditures, as well as notes, bills, and a brochure advertising A. E. Youman's Dictionary of Every-Day Wants (1884).
