The manuscript in this collection, "The Southern Frontier in Queen Anne's War," was written by Verner Crane, a history faculty member at the University of Michigan. Sent to Clarence W. Alvord on Dec. 3, 1918, it was published in the American Historical Review, Apr. 1919. The collection also includes three letters which discuss the sources Crane planned to use in The Southern Frontier, 1670-1732 (1929).
