Scope and Contents: Richard Murphy (1903-85), a University of Illinois professor of speech, held the position of Parliamentarian at the Illinois Constitutional Convention of 1969-70. This collection, donated to the Library in 1974, contains notes, papers, and pamphlets collected by Murphy while at the Constitutional Convention, mainly from the Style, Drafting and Submission Committee, which bear the parliamentarian's notation. The Richard Murphy Papers in the University Archives (15/23/027) include additional materials on the Convention.
