Scope and Contents: J. W. Phillips of Washington, Ill., and later Peoria, Ill., entered personal and financial information in these journals and cash books. As a "tree agent," Phillips sold fruit trees and other products in his nursery business. The Illinois Historical Survey acquired his records in 1954.
