We provide a variety of services as a member the International & Area Studies Library.
- In-depth reference and research assistance for the Latin America & Caribbean Studies collection and in support of the Center for Latin American & Caribbean Studies and the Lemann Institute for Brazilian Studies. Please contact Dr. Sotomayor to set up an appointment.
- Instructional Services, including in-class and special instruction sessions and course-specific instructional tools.
- International Reference @ Illinois, an ongoing project to provide advanced help to researchers interested in finding and accessing foreign language materials.
Technology on Site
The International & Area Studies Library has a number of technologies on site designed to help patrons make optimal use of our collections. Library staff are on hand to assist with these technologies.
A black and white public printer is available in Room 321 in the IAS Library. Printing is $0.10 per page. A public color printer is available on the 2nd floor of the Main Library.
A flat bed scanner and BookEye Scanner are available at the Room 321 in IAS Library. Two Microform Digital Scanners are located in Room 319. There is no charge for use of any scanners.
There is a Microform reader available in Room 219, and a Microfilm reader in Room 319a. These machines do not print.
Audiovisual editing and viewing equipment is available for visitors, students, faculty, and staff at the Undergraduate Library.
