The Library Friends Board of Directors is a group of dedicated individuals who understand the Library's central role in support of the University's mission of teaching, research, and public service. Board members serve as advocates for the Library and engage in a variety of activities that advance interest in and support for its collections, programs, services, and initiatives.
The charge to the Library Friends Board is to serve as an informed advocate for the Library, advancing its mission and support for its collections, programs, services, and initiatives; establish criteria for membership in the Library Friends and assist in the development of policies for levels of membership and recognition for gifts; assist the University Librarian and advancement officers in raising the visibility of the Library at the community, state, national, and international levels; and advise the University Librarian and advancement officers about potential sources of library support, financial or otherwise.
