  • A to Z Home’s Cool: Known as having "the best and most interesting and useful sites and articles about home education on the web", this comprehensive site is run by an experienced homeschool teacher. With over 1,000 links, this site covers everything from lesson plans and support groups to legalities and religion. Also available in Spanish and French.
  • At Home in the Heartland Online: An interactive online resource for Illinois classrooms (grades 3-12) brought to you by the Illinois State Museum and Ameritech.
  • Bilingual, ESL, Spanish Language and Latino Resources: Links to government and university resources about Bilingual needs and English as a Second Language are the strength of this page from the Lycos search engine.
  • Digital Cultural Heritage Community Curriculum Units: The Digital Cultural Heritage Community Project contains links to curriculum units supplied by 3rd, 4th and 5th grade teachers. Units on communities, the U.S. Constitution, the French in Illinois, and Westward Expansion are just a few of the topics you will find covered here.
  • FREE: Federal Resources for Educational Excellence: Offers free educational web resources for teachers and students to use in the classroom sponsored through over 30 federal agencies. The web resources are organized into subject areas and it offers a variety of special collections.
  • Homeschooling in the United States: 2003: Based on a survey put forth by the National Center for Education Statistics, this forty-one page report details homeschooling in the United States. Among the many issues discussed are demographics of families involved in homeschooling, parents' reasons for homeschooling, and the differences between children taught at home and those taught a public or private schools.
  • Illinois Alive! Digital Library Collection : This site is a digital library collection of archival materials relating to the history of Illinois during its first century of statehood (1818-1918). Included in the site are materials related to famous people in the state's first one hundred years. Other materials include primary sources materials about Illinois' agricultural past, her contributions to the Civil War, the importance of the railroad, and references and links to sites about Abraham Lincoln. Illinois Alive! has a special section for educators, as well as a timeline of state history for the first one hundred years.
  • Primary Education (K-3) Resources for Bilingual Education: Choose this site for hands-on Spanish resources at the primary level. Many of the sites include RealAudio sound clips.
