EBSCO online offers general, business, newspaper and health-related information. Provides full text for over 1,250 journals covering the social sciences, humanities, general science, multi-cultural studies, education, plus 960 journals covering business, management, economics, finance, banking, accounting and selected full text articles from 143 U.S. and international newspapers.
InfoTrac – Expanded Academic Index
Use EAI to find information on a wide variety of topics such as astronomy, religion, law, history, psychology, humanities, current events, sociology, communications, women’s issues and the general sciences. EAI indexes 2000 scholarly and popular interdisciplinary journals, national news magazines, and selected topics in the last 6 months of the New York Times. About half the entries include full text. Covers 1996-present, with access to the backfile (1980-1995).
A comprehensive source for news, business, and legal information with full text and abstracts. Includes foreign news sources, major U.S. newspapers, regional U.S. news services, radio and television transcripts, federal and state case law, medical, legislative and industry news, annual reports from Securities and Exchange Commission and many other sources. Newspapers are updated several times daily, and wire services hourly.
Public Affairs Information Service
PAIS International is a bibliographic index with abstracts covering the full range of political, social, and public policy issues. Topics covered include economic, political, and social issues, business, finance, law, international trade and relations, public administration, government, political science, and any topics that are or might become the subject of legislation. The database covers selected journal articles, books, statistics, yearbooks, directories, conference proceedings, pamphlets, reports, government documents, and microfiche. More than 1,600 journals and over 8,000 monographs are indexed each year. Coverage includes documents published worldwide in any of six languages: English, French, German, Italian, Portuguese, and Spanish. The subject headings and abstracts are in English. Covers 1972-present.
Wilson Readers' Guide Abstracts database includes citations and abstracts for articles from over 250 of the popular English language periodicals, covering such general interest areas as current events, business, fashion, politics, crafts, food, education, sports, history, and science. Advertisements and cartoons are not indexed. Covers 1983-present.
Statistical Universe -Available from the Gateway and Documents Library Web-Pages.
Statistical Universe provides comprehensive access to statistical information from Congressional Information Service, Inc. Includes searchable abstracts and indexes to U.S., state, international and intergovernmental statistical sources compiled in American Statistics Index, Statistical Reference Index and Index to International Statistics (ASI, SRI & IIS). The index record provides title, bibliographic and subject information, as well as an abstract to the contents of each statistical publication. Frequently, there is a detailed listing of tables and charts. Most of these publications can be found in the Government Documents Library.

Federal Elections Commission - The elections watchdog for the federal government, this site includes campaign finance reports and data, law resources, links to information about the electoral college, the U.S. federal election system, and the administrative structure of U.S. elections to name a few. The site also provides separate guides to elections for citizens, the media, and candidates and committees.
Thomas Legislative Branch Information Services - Here you will find web sites listing House and Senate members, committee membership, information about the history, operation, and composition of the U.S. Congress, and other information sources to assist your legislative research including voting records, government records and publications and much, much more.
Project Vote Smart - One of the oldest Internet sites dealing with the topics of campaign reform, finance, voting records, and general election information. In addition provides information on specific ballot measures (initiatives and referenda), issue links, and much more.
Open Secrets - Includes links to politician profiles, fundraising overview, and political party finances. Want to know who received the most money from unions, air transport, banking, or real estate? Wondering what the history of political contributions from various industries looks like for the last decade? This is the place to go.
