Office of
Diversity, Equity, and Access
The Office of Diversity, Equity, and Access (ODEA) fosters an inclusive environment on
campus. ODEA's duties include: responsibility for all facets of the University's Affirmative Action
policies and procedures, ensuring campus-wide compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act,
and handling complaints of alleged discrimination filed with Federal and State civil rights
agencies. In addition, the Office provides training to faculty, staff, and students and promotes
the University's efforts in the area of community outreach.

Office for Inclusion and
Intercultural Relations
The Office for Inclusion and Intercultural Relations (OIIR) seeks to improve campus climate
by providing transformative learning experiences to the Illinois community that result in an
appreciation for diversity and cross cultural engagement.

Office of the Associate Provost for
International Affairs
The Associate Provost for International Affairs oversees teaching, research, and engagement
in international education through the integration of relevant learning abroad opportunities into
degrees, minors and certificates, assessment and evaluation of global competence as an outcome, and
alignment of the area or international studies concentration to a disciplinary major.

Office of the Provost
The Provost oversees academic and budgetary policy and priorities, ensures the quality of the
faculty and student body, and maintains educational excellence. All of the deans and directors of
academic units report to the Provost.

Disability Research Institute
Funded from June 2000 to July 2007 as a cooperative agreement between the Social Security
Administration (SSA) and the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, the Disability Research
Institute (DRI) developed a national network of partners producing high-impact research in
disability.

Disability Resources and Education Services
The Division of Disability Resources and Education Services is the campus office responsible
for ensuring that qualified individuals with disabilities are afforded an equal opportunity to
participate in and benefit from the curricular, co-curricular and vocational opportunities
available at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.
