Digital Literacy Portal

Welcome to the portal for Digital Literacy at the University of Illinois Libraries. Here you will find various tutorials, guides, and digital tools created to help you find, evaluate, and critically use information sources.

Digital Literacy Projects

Tutorials

Interactive video tutorials as well as static tutorials  on topics such as Refworks, the Online Research Resources page, the Library Catalog, etc.

Videos

Short videos (with real people!) that help explain some of the resources available in the UIUC Libraries.

Podcasts

Audio files (some with images) that accompany some of our text based tutorials and tours or that can be viewed on their own.

In order to create live links to existing journal articles links must use a persistent URL. Directions for linking to many popular database vendors are provided.

Faculty Resources

Tools, tips, and strategies for faculty working together to integrate library resources into courses.

Digital Learning Librarian

The Digital Learning Librarian and the  Digital Literacy  Unit work collaboratively with librarians and faculty to create tools that help to integrate the library into the teaching and learning process. One result is the creation of online resources and learning objects that focus on infusing library and information skills with instructional technology to help individuals obtain digital literacy.
