Digital Services and Development Legacy

Since its inception, the Digital Services and Development Unit has accomplished several exploratory imaging projects supported in part by these external sponsors:

• The Institute of Museum and Library Services, which awarded National Leadership grant funding for the Digital Cultural Heritage Community, Teaching with Digital Content and Basics and Beyond projects.
• IBM, who provided a generous equipment grant of two T221 monitors and workstations.
• The Intel Corporation, who provided a generous equipment grant which helped fund the Digital Media Resource Center, a working lab for digitization projects.
• Eastman Kodak Corporation
• Follett Corporation
• Getty Information Institute (MESL)
• National Science Foundation, Digital Libraries Initiative (DLI) Program Supplemental Grant (MARS, a feature-based retrieval system)
• The Humanities Imaging Database Project is a joint project of the Advanced Information Technologies Group (AITG), the University Library, and Computing and Communications Services Office's Web Support Initiative (now Campus Imformation Technologies and Educational Services) to establish a campus-wide image database for the use of humanities faculty in their teaching and research.
