When you pay with cash photocopies cost 15 cents for both 8.5 x 11" sized photocopies and 8.5 x 14" sized photocopies. If you use a value (copy) card or your i-card the cost is reduced to 9 cents for 8.5 x 11" sized copies and 10 cents for 8.5 x 14" sized copies.Back to top
There are three photocopy machines available for public use, one on each of the floors: second, third, and fourth floor. They are all located on the north side of the building next to a conference room.Back to top

The photocopiers on the second and third floors do accept copy card, loose change and old style bills. The photocopier on the fourth floor takes only cards. None of the copy machines in the Funk ACES Library accept the special copy cards issued by departments. However, the Grainger Engineering Library and the Biology Library have photocopiers that use these cards.Back to top
There is a change machine located on the second floor near the copy machine which accepts $1 and $5 bills (including the new style). The Funk ACES Library circulation desk staff cannot make change.Back to top
There is a Value (copy) Card dispenser on the second floor of the Funk ACES Library. It is located next to a conference room and near the photocopier. You may add money to your copy card or i-card from the Value Card dispenser.
Copy cards cost $1.00 and come pre-loaded with $0.50 worth of copies. More value may be added at the time of purchase or any time thereafter.
Using a copy card instead of your i-card eliminates the risk of leaving your i-card in a copy machine, which decreases card replacement costs and helps prevent theft and misuse of your i-card.
If your value card does not function correctly, call Campus Vending at (217) 333-7106, or stop by Illini Union room 333 Monday-Friday, 8am-5pm (northwest corner, third floor). If the Value Card Teller Machine in the Funk ACES Library fails to work correctly, please notify the Funk ACES staff, as we will then notify Campus Vending.
For more information about value cards, please see Campus Vending Value Card.Back to top
Unfortunately, the Funk ACES Library does not provide such services. There are alternative methods though. The Interlibrary Borrowing office provides a service called Doc Express. It is a fee-based photocopy service, available to UIUC faculty, staff, and students to obtain copies of articles from journals found in the UIUC campus library system. This is a photocopy service for library users that may not have time to do the footwork themselves or prefer to have their materials copied for them. Faculty and staff are charged $3.00 per article (up to 30 pages per article). Students are charged $5.00 per article (up to 30 pages per article).
For more information on this great program, please read the UIUC Doc Express page. Don't forget to check the Online Research Resources (ORR) database to see if we have an online subscription to the journal you are interested in.
If you have a research account or photocopying account through another department you may purchase a Value Card for that account from Illini Union Vending, room 333 of the Illini Union. There is a form to fill out for this service. Contact lllini Union Vending at (217) 333-7106 for more information.Back to top
