As always, if you are having difficulty locating an item, please do not hesitate to ask a member of our staff for assistance.
The Q.--- refers to over-sized items and not a location. The Funk ACES Library does not shelve these separately. When looking for an item with a call number that begins with Q., ignore the Q. and look for the numbers following it. For example, you can find Q630.1JO shelved at 630.1JO, and Q.50P418 shelved at .50P418.
In the Funk ACES Library, we shelve books whose call numbers begin with C at the beginning of our collection. The C is treated as three zeros (.000) before the first number of letter. You can locate these books before items with the call number .001. For example, you can find C5P418 shelved at .0005P418.
These are atlases or "folios" and are located on the shelves in between the "Current Periodicals" and "ACES Reference" or on the small free-standing table across from these sections, on the west side of the building.
The A at the beginning of a call number represents .016. If you are trying to locate a book with call number A, you should look on the shelves where the .016's are stored. For example, you can find A.050P418 shelved at 016.050P418.
If further assistance is needed, please inquire at either the circulation or reference desks.
The B stands for bibliography and and book with this call number can be found after 919.
If further assistance is needed, please inquire at either the circulation or reference desks.
The ACES library is named after the Isaac and Cassandra Funk family. A digital archive of Funk family related photos may be found by searching for keyword "Funk" at the Illinois Harvest website.
