Model A Ford Carburetor
Title
Model
A
Ford
Carburetor
Coverage / Year
1929 to 1931
Description
This
is
a
cast
iron
,
two
piece
carburetor
with a
gasket
between
the
parts.
Details
include
a
choke
paddle
one
end
and an in and
out
switch
on the
other.
The
paddle
has an
open
and
close
switch.
Interpretation
The
Model
A
Ford
was
first
sold
in
1927
after
Henry
Ford
stopped
producing
the
Model
T.
Unlike
the
Model
T
, the
Model
A had
1800
additional
parts
and
came
in
seven
body
styles
painted
in the
customer's
choice
of
four
colors.
This
carburetor
enabled
the
car
to
run
20
to
30
miles
on
one
gallon
of
gasoline.
The
carburetor
was
probably
taken
out
of a
family
car
under
repair.
This would not have been
unusual
because
many
families
repaired
their
own
cars
and
it
was
encouraged
by its
manufacturer.
Every
Model
A
came
with a
tool
kit
which
contained
a
wide
variety
of
items
such
as a
tire
pump
and a
spark
plug
wrench.
