InterpretationDuring World War II many consumer goods were rationed for civilians in order to supply more goods for both American and Allied troops. Among the rationed items were sugar, red meat, gas, oil, and rubber. This poster is a reminder to Americans to conserve the supply of these goods so that the troops fighting the war would have enough.
