| Coverage / Year | 1945 |
| Description | Poster, color, 20 x 28 in., published by the United States Governmnet Printing Office |
| Interpretation | As World War II continued, the demand for nurses was overwhelming in all branches of the military. Serious efforts were made to increase recruitment. These efforts were so successful that by the summer of 1945 there were 57, 000 Army nurses and 11, 000 Navy nurses on active duty. This nursiong recruitment poster reminded Americnas that military veterans continued to fight disease and disability on the home front, in Veteran's Administration hopsitals - where the nursing shortage was just as crucial. |
