Description
A
elaborately
decorated
small
lamp
in the
shape
of an
ancient
lamp
,
like
the
one
like
that
which
belonged
to the
legendary
Aladdin.
It
has a
single
wick
opening.
This
is
, in
fact
a
cigar
lighter.
Interpretation
By the
end
of the
19th
century
, the
small
individual
oil
lamp
had been
replaced
by
kerosene
lamps
,
gas
lighting
and
even
in
some
places
electrical
lamps.
The
ancient
form
of
lamp
,
which
was
still
used
for
whale
oil
and
camphene
lamps
became
used
for
something
as
insignificant
as a
cigar
lighter.
