Interpretation
Kerosene
lamps
like
this were
quite
popular
in the
late
19th
century.
Kerosene
was
fuel
created
from
oil
developed
in the
1860s.
It
replaced
nearly
every
other
kind
of
lamp
fuel
in
just
a
few
years.
Kerosene
was
such
a
readily
available
and
popular
fuel
that
lamps
became
bigger
and were
more
often
manufactured
than
hand
made.
This
lamp
is
