Dodge Business Sedan 1922
Title
Dodge
Business
Sedan
1922
Coverage / Year
1922
Description
Drawing
for an
advertisement
Interpretation
Dodge
Bros.
had been
building
all-steel
bodies
on their
open
cars
since
1915.
In
early
autumn
of
1922
the
Business
Sedan
came
on the
market
with a
body
of
welded
steel
,
without
the
usual
wooden
frame
,
thus
making
it
easier
to
pre-paint
the
unfinished
bodies
with
oven-baked
enamel.
This
saved
hours
of
assembly
time
and the
finish
withstood
much
abuse
without
chipping
,
crazing
, or
fading.
The
1922
Business
Sedan
had a
removable
rear
seat
and
footrest
thus
leaving
64
cubic
feet
of
luggage
or
storage
space
in the
rear
compartment.
