| Interpretation | Programs offering remedial education, job training, and career guidance were among the numerous federal programs created to meet the New Deal goal of education of the public. The Workers Education Program was designed to encourage adult education. Other WPA-run programs were the Women's and Professional Division (which provided training in home economics and health care) ands the National Youth Association (which furnished stipends for college students; provided jobs in libraries, museums, and laboratories; and administered apprentice training programs in many occupations.) These posters, with their strong graphic design, proved effective in informing the public about various opportunities available to them through these educational venues.
