| Description | Sepia-tone print of Lincoln Home parlors, furnished as an exhibit area by Osborn Oldroyd. Framed prints and photos cover the walls, several busts and sculptures are on shelves and pillars on either side of doorway. Some items have large numbers on them. Several cases hold books. A horsehair sofa is on the left, a side chair on the right. Cradle is visible in back center of room. Patriotic swags and a shield with the phrase "Mortal Be Proud" hang over the doorway. L 7" x W 4". |
| Interpretation | Osborn Oldroyd lived in the Lincoln Home and served as its caretaker for many years after Lincoln's death. He was also a major Lincolniana collector. He moved to Washington, DC and opened his museum in the house where Lincoln died (Petersen House) and later sold his collection to the U.S. Government where it became the basis for the museum collection at Fords Theatre National Historic Site. |
