The
postcard
was
created

California
in
1920.
A
large
elm
tree
with
only
one
main
branch
is
in
front
of the
home.
A
striped
awning
covers
the
front
door
and a
plaque
is
visible
just
to the
right
of the
door.
Heavy
vegetation
and an
urn
decorate
the
front
yard.

Postcards
continue
to be
one
of the
most
enduring
souvenirs
of the
Abraham
Lincoln
Home
, and
provide
valuable
visual
references
for the
condition
and
appearance
of the
Home
throughout
the
years.
For
example
, the
large
elm
tree
in the
front
of the
home
lost
one
of its
main
branches
in the
1890s
and was
cut
down
in
1906
after
sucumbing
to
Dutch
Elm
disease.
