DescriptionRound, flat-top, plain onyx brooch with gold clasp. Button-style, highly polished surface. Gold ring attached to back, not visible from top. Clasp & pin attached to ring, simple spiral clasp, pin soldered to opposite side of ring. Diam 3/4" x W 1/4".
InterpretationMary Todd Lincoln gave this brooch to her niece, Mary Edwards Brown. When M.E. Brown lived in the Lincoln Home, she gave the brooch to the donor's grandmother.
