| Title | Work on a farm... this summer; Join the U.S. Crop Corps |
| Coverage / Year | 1943 |
| Description | Poster, color, 20 x 27.75 in., published by the United States Government Printing Office |
| Interpretation | Although men in occupations considered "critical" (such as agriculture and food processing) were exempt from the draft, there was a shortage of farm labor during WWII. The Office of War Information and the Department of Agriculture charged the State Extension Services with mobilizing and utilizing local farm resources. This poster is part of the informational/educational campaign urging citizens to volunteer as field hands in order to assist farmers in food production for the war effort. |
