Is located at Eighth Street and Wisconsin Ave. John Plankinton erected the first building occupied by the Public Library at Grand Ave. and 4th Street where at one time Byron Kilbourn lived. There the Library remained until the present building was erected. The Museum occupies over three quarters of the building and it is the largest strictly municipal museum in the U.S.
