DescriptionOn Back: The Library in Allerton House, at Robert Allerton Park, near Monticello, Illinois. Shown here as furnished during the occupancy of the former owner, the room reflects the character of the entire building, now used by the University of Illinois as a center for extension study, for important conferences and special seminars. The house itself is located in a 2000 acre park given to the University by Robert Allerton in 1946 for educational and research purposes.
