Escutcheon per pale, Dexter: quarterly, 1 and 4, vert (green) a chevron between three martlets argent (silver), [in 1, a crescent for difference], quarters 2 and 3, a sword in bend, point downwards proper between two mullets (stars) of six points pierced argent, for Hayley. Sinister, quarterly, quarter 1, azure a fess and two mullets of five points in chief; quarter 2, azure a chevron between 3 annulets or; quarter 3, gules, a stag's head or; quarter 4, ten crosses pattee, six in chief and four in base argent, for Berkeley. Crest: A lion erased argent charged on the neck with an ermine spot sable (black). Motto: Pedetentim
