Bookplate TextPORTICO-LIBRARY / Manchester / No | Vol / Days allowed forfeit / (DIVISION ) / AT the Annual Meeting of the Propietors of the Portico, held January 7th, 1850, it was Resolved, -- / "That any Proprietor keeping a Book beyond the / "time allowed, shall forfeit one penny per day, and / 'shall not be entitled to have any more books from / "the Library till the fines be paid; and that if a / "book be urgently wanted, the Librarian shall send / "written notice to the party detaining it, --the postage / "to be added to the amount of the fines." / N.B.--The Librarian is instructed to enforce this Rule in every instance.
