Escutcheon: Quarterly, 1st and 4th, argent (silver) three lozenges conjoined in fess gules (red) a border sable (black), for Montagu; 2nd and 3rd, or (gold), an eagle displayed vert (green), beaked and membered gules, for Monthermer. Crest: A griffin's head couped, wings elevated sable, charged on the breast with a portcullis. Supporters: Two griffins argent guttee de sang, beaked, membered and wings expanded gules each charged on the breast with a portcullis sable. Motto: Otium cum dignitate (Leisure with dignity)
