rebuilding
the
city
was
substantially
completed
,
Stiles
Burton
has been
termed
'one
of the
men
most
honored
and
esteemed
among
the
early
citizens
of
Chicago.'
His
portraits
hangs
in the
gallery
of the
Chicago
Historic
Society
,
which
organization
acknowledged
the
indebtedness
of the
city
to
Mr.
Burton
for the
substantial
part
which
he
took
in its
early
development
and
upbuilding."
